- Wall Thickness
To avoid distortion, wall thickness of MIM parts should not exceed 5 mm.
- Constant wall thickness
Differing wall thickness within a part may lead to distortion or warpage.
- Avoid sharp corners and edges
Sharp corners and edges may cause sink marks.
- Avoid sharp thickness transitions
- Design one side flat
If possible, one side of the component should be designed flat in order to place the part. This will improve the injection process.
- Draft angles
To improve mold release, it is recommended that draft angles be designed.
