GKN’s powder forged one-way clutch races feature the SintaCarb® process that provides superior performance in the demanding one-way clutch environment. As a complement to powder forging’s net shape forming capability, the SintaCarb process eliminates the need for any secondary heat treatment operations. Superior race performance is achieved via selective carbon diffusion during the sintering process to provide a gradual transition between the case and core hardness.
